Gold Leaf, Springvale

Had a family dinner here a couple of weeks ago. It's always a reliable place to go for a solid meal.



Lobsters were fresh and succulent. Done in the classic way with spring onions and ginger and noodles.




Mongolian lamb came out sizzling on the hotplate. Delicious!


This scallop dish sounded awesome on the menu. But it wasn't that great. The scallops were rather small, and were forced atop prawn balls. A tad boring.




Although I was stuffed full, I could not go past my childhood favourite, the fried ice cream. The texture was ok, although I expected the fried coating to be much hotter and therefore crispier, and the ice cream to be creamier.
